First off... OUR LEATHER

Our leather comes from a 6th generation tannery in the Italian Alps just outside of Venice, Italy.
The Heavier Rustic Brown and Black are 2.2mm thick.  The Flight Jacket is 1.5mm thick.  All of them are as one customer said, "...to die for. Not to soft, not to stiff, not to thick not to thin, just perfect."  You will not find this leather anywhere else.  The patina developed over time will not only enrich it's look and make you the envy of others but it will draw you in and inspire you as it moves from one refill to the next over time.  This is a leather that you will not want to let go of.

There is nothing you need to do our leathers to care for them. Use them vigorously and without mercy.  Scratch it and it will heal when rubbed.
That is one of the beauties of our leather... elegant, soft and luscious yet nearly bombproof.  There is no need to pamper it.  Just use it and know it is developing an inner beauty as you do.

Unbranded English cow are the hides we use for our leather.  They are all a byproduct of the meat eating industry.  It is the responsible use of available resources.
There is simply nothing better in the world than Italian tanned leather using English cow. We worked with our Italian tannery for 2 years to develop our leather and it is unavailable anywhere else except at Frye Boots. They loved our leather so much that they started using it to make their boots.  That should tell you something about it's durability.

Style #1 - The BASIC Cover

If you are a minimalist like me then this is the cover for you.

It is a simple book cover with inside front and rear pockets where your notebook's covers slide in.

Leather Colors from left to right are Heavier Rustic Brown, Flight Jacket & Black

The pockets are thinned to about 1.4mm to reduce bulk.
Inside edges of the pockets are split thinner, rolled over and sewn.

Dimensions:
Overall when closed: 6-1/4w x 9-1/8h.
Inside pockets:  3-5/8w x 9-1/8h

Style #2 - The FOLIO Cover

If you are someone who uses your notebook to organize then this is the style for you.

This cover (shown in Flight Jacket leather) includes an integrated pen loop. Scroll down more info about the pen loop.
NOTE: Pen and notebook are NOT included.
The rear cover of your book slides into a full width pocket.  The front cover of your book is loose and free to roam :)
A full width inside pocket will do 2 things:
1.  It totally secures your notebook without flopping around.
2.  It will give you a consistently smooth writing surface with no bumps underneath.

On the inside front cover are a series of 3 storage pockets to help organize.
The white sheets in the photo are 4x6 and 5x8 to help you gauge size.
A 5.5 x 8.5 inch sheet would be a really tight fit on the tall side.

All pockets are thinned to about 1.4mm to reduce bulk.
Inside edges of the pockets are split thinner, rolled over and sewn.

Style #3 - The 3x5 Card Cover

If you are someone who uses 3x5 cards then this style is an absolute MUST for you.

This cover includes an integrated pen loop. Scroll down more info about the pen loop.
Shown with 5/8" pen loop which provides a very snug fit for the Visconti Ink Pot.
Visconti Ink Pot and Notebook are NOT included.

THE PEN LOOP

The perfect Pen Loop for your fountain pen.

We are writers just like you and yes, we use inexpensive pens like the G-2. But we also use Pelikan and TWSBI and Visconti and....
My point is that the perfect cover requires the perfect loop.
Ours come in 3 sizes to start. The sizes below are your pens diameter. We make them a tad larger to avoid a super tight fit.
1/2 inch - approx size of a Pilot G-2
5/8 inch - pictured with Visconti Van Gogh (not included). It will also snuggly hold a Visconti Ink Pot.
3/4 inch - I don't have a pen this fat but I know they are out there :)

If your pen is larger then tell us it's diameter, at the widest point, in the comments box when you check out. We'll make your perfect size for no additional cost.

The pen loop is set exactly 2.5 inches from the top of the cover and is 4 inches long.
We make your pen loop longer than other companies might in order to better protect the investment you have made in your pen.
That's the same reason we integrate the pen loop inside of the cover... so it is not exposed and hanging out.

Don't want a pen loop with your Folio or 3x5 Card style cover?
No Problem.  Just mention it in the comments box when checking out and we'll leave it off.
Doing that will reduce the overall width by about 1/2 inch.

Btw... the Notebook and Pen pictured are NOT included.

PAPER - OVERVIEW

We have 3 European, hand-torn papers.  Yours will come with our Standard, Arches Text Wove paper.

Whether you write, draw or do both... using anything from a fountain pen to watercolor brushes, you will have the perfect paper.
Pick one paper for your entire journal OR pick a different paper for each refill.

Our Standard paper is Arches Text Wove.  The Frankfurt papers are our premium papers and while made more for fountain pens, work very well for water coloring too.

Our papers are all 120gsm in weight which give them the body you will love.
They will not feather or bleed with a fountain pen and are acid free.

And because you can write on both sides with any pen or pencil, it's like having twice the amount of usable pages you would have in a book with thinner paper.

We also hand tear all of our papers from larger parent sheets to give you the rough, authentic and artisanal look and feel.

PAPER - ARCHES TEXT WOVE (our standard)

Arches, from France, is the world's longest lasting paper (at least NASA thought so when it printed 250 artist proofs and launched them into outer space on the Shuttle Discovery in 1990). It is moderately sized, has a slight tooth and is one of the finest multi use artist papers and perfect for your ballpoint, rollerball, pencil or broad nib/stubbed fountain pen. It will not feather or bleed and you can write on both sides too. It will handle watercolor and gouache washes, copic markers, colored pencils, graphite and... you can scrub it some too. This paper is not only beautiful but it is the workhorse of papers for professional artists.

PAPER - FRANKFURT CREME AND WHITE (premium)

Frankfurt White and Creme, from Germany, have a harder finish with a beautiful wavy laid pattern and are recommended for a smooth write with your fountain pen, good opacity and will not feather or bleed.
